Administrator, Parker at Stonegate

Carol Burt joined the Parker team in March 1993, as director of Recreation Services. Working in this role for 12 years, she was responsible for the management of the Recreation Department and activities offered to the nursing home residents, the volunteer program, and the in-services/activities offered to employees. Prior to joining Parker, she was a member of the board of a local affiliate for the Delta Society, an organization dedicated to enriching people’s lives though the power interaction of animals with people.

In 1999, Ms. Burt became one of Parker’s first certified Eden Associates and a key leader in the development of the Eden Alternative™ at Parker. She led an interdisciplinary team in the creation and development of an innovative and high-quality specialized dementia care unit, Evergreen Way.

In 2008, Ms. Burt received the annual New Administrator of the Year award from the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators.

Ms. Burt has a Master of Science degree in Psychology/Art Therapy and has earned a Gerontology Certificate from Rutgers University’s School of Social Work. Additionally, Ms. Burt is a licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) and certified assisted living administrator (CALA).

She was born and raised in Morristown, NJ, and currently resides in Bedminster, NJ.
