VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
“We are prone to judge success by the index of our salaries or the size of our automobiles, rather than by the quality of our service relationship to humanity.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Why should I become a Parker volunteer?

Volunteering at Parker is a wonderful experience that is beneficial to both you and those around you. We provide a welcoming atmosphere for volunteers of all ages, offering flexible days and hours. At Parker, we believe age is only a state of mind.

There is a place for anyone who wants to volunteer at Parker. We seek out new and creative ideas on how to enrich our residents through volunteerism, so if you have an idea, we would love to hear from you.

Volunteers enhance the quality of life of our residents each and every day. We sincerely appreciate the time, energy, and special efforts given to our residents. As a “thank you” from us to our volunteers, we host an annual reception in their honor.

If you are considering becoming a volunteer and are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others, Parker is the ideal place.

How do I become a Parker volunteer?

Becoming a volunteer requires taking the three following steps:
  1. View available volunteer positions.
  2. Complete a volunteer application. Click here for the online application or Mail/fax your Application for Volunteer Work to 443 River Road, Highland Park, NJ 08904 or fax (732) 565-2402.
  3. Make an appointment for an interview by contacting Catherine Martino at (732) 565-2411 or volunteer@feparker.net. We want your volunteer experience to be a success, and to ensure that it will be, an interview is required. During that time, you will learn about our philosophy and needs. You will also have the opportunity to tell us about your special talents, interests, and skills in order to match them to the needs of our residents. If you decide to join our volunteer family, we will arrange for an orientation and decide on a schedule.

*Please note that a background check is required for anyone 21 years of age and older. The background check is conducted and paid for by Parker as a requirement along with the interview and orientation.
Still have questions? Call Catherine Martino, volunteer coordinator at (732) 565-2411 or e-mail her at volunteer@feparker.net.
