Recreation for Residents

Why Should I Join the Parker Registry Now?

Planning for the future is a smart thing to do. If you’ve decided that Parker is the place you want to live when the time is right for you to move to assisted living or long-term care, the earlier you join, the higher you are on our wait list. Meanwhile, you will have the option to join Parker’s Health and Wellness Center in Highland Park (for only $30 a month!) and enjoy our state-of-the-art gym with free personal training, swimming pool, and hot tub. The fee to join our Registry is only $75 (non-refundable).

How Long is Parker’s Wait List?

Parker’s  residences, both assisted living and nursing care, are very popular in central New Jersey, due to our dedication to person-directed living, our extraordinary company culture, our compassionate and highly-trained staff, and our beautiful residences. The wait list is actually divided into two groups: an active list and an inactive list. Most people are on the inactive list, because they are not ready to make the move to long-term care. Those on the active list have chosen which Parker residence they desire most, and now that we have more rooms than ever before, the wait is actually shorter than it used to be. If you choose to move to Parker at Stonegate assisted living residence, we will ask you for a $1000 deposit to hold the room, which will be put towards your first month’s rent. Our nursing care residences do not require a deposit. Speak to the Admissions Manager in the residence of your choice to get an estimate of the length of your wait.

How Does the Admissions Process Work?
When you change your status from inactive to active and you near the top of the list, you will receive phone calls from the Admissions Manager when a room becomes available. You can decline moving to Parker and still remain on the active list. When you are ready to accept a room in the home of your choice, the admission process begins. On average, admission occurs 4-7 days after the bed acceptance. To ensure a smooth transition, our Admissions Manager will assist you throughout the process, which consists of a clinical home assessment and a pre-admissions meeting, followed by setting your move-in date.
